It was clear for many authorities that their level of preparedness for responding to a major crisis situation (such as epidemic/pandemic, COVID-19) is not at the expected level. It was also clear that the actual resilience (the capacity to respond at an acceptable level) was not accurate evaluated considering the shortages experienced (mostly with regard to medical supplies and critical human resources). The impact on the economy was also not very well foreseen.
More than 10 years of experience in designing and implementing IT systems for Emergency Services and an outstanding multi-disciplinary and multi-national team started this journey a while ago, in Istanbul, with the simulation of a major earthquake. Since then, we collected feedback from people involved in the real fight with disasters and we came to what we call today the Crisis and Resilience Simulation Platform.

We designed the platform on the basis of two main principles: rapid deployment and usability. The user experience that will be offered to out customers and users aims to encourage the adoption even in organisations where the penetration of the modern technologies is not so high.
The platform is (by design) highly scalable in order to allow “one-click” deployment. On the other hand, the user experience that will offer to the users comes with a “price” of complexity. The platform will be hosted in server less environments, connected to the services offered by the major players in this domain. Besides the technical advantages of not being necessary to develop functionalities that are already available and mature, this approach will have a positive impact in the commercial and pricing strategy as “pay-per-use” and “pay-as-you-go” principles can by applicable back-to-back.
